Week3 Update

A frustrating week as a pesky cold has kept me off the bike for a fair chunk of it. I’m back on it now though – still only indoors thanks to the weather. Hopefully now we’re into February the weather will start to improve as the days slowly get longer. I’ll be glad to get riding outside if only for the ability to shift position on the bike and not have my saddle in the same place for an hour!!!

I did the British Cycling threshold test at the weekend, so now I have accurate figures for my heart rate zones. My training plan focuses on these zones (along with cadence) to improve endurance. Trying to stay within a band also keeps the workout interesting rather than just grinding through the miles and gives the chance to mix things up a bit.

I had a lovely surprise in my mailbox on Monday morning when I received an email from JustGiving saying my page was in the top 5% fundraisers in January.  A massive thanks to all who have supported me so far, it gives such a boost and really is appreciated. I haven’t done anything yet, so this is for you lot..
