Flashback to May 2012, I helped out as support team for friends tackling a John O’Groats – Land’s End cycle ride. In the pub on the last night I announced I was going to attempt my own challenge, to ride Coast to Coast.
Fast forward to 2015 and despite a few conversations I was still no closer to getting off my backside and starting to plan.
Then in late summer 2015 I received the diagnosis from my doctor that I had bladder cancer. The Fight Bladder Cancer website and support group are such a great source of information and strength to me (and my family) that I wanted to give something back.
Put it all together and the seed was planted. From 1st to 3rd July “Team Rocky” will make it’s way from Morecambe to Scarborough on a 160 mile journey, hopefully raising awareness and a little bit of money.
This is that story..
Just seen your picture in the Scarborough News and decided to reply and send a donation. I only live 10 minutes from Osgodby, I am recovering from bladder cancer surgery and until I saw the article I didn’t know that there was a fight bladder cancer charity. As a result I will now get in contact with them and see if I can help further. Many thanks and keep up the fight.
